Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Welcome to Mile Zero. These Terms are the agreement between you and Fieldcraft LLC ("Mile Zero," "we," "us"), the company that operates the Mile Zero app and this website, milezero.app. By creating an account or using Mile Zero, you agree to these Terms.

We wrote these in plain language on purpose. Where the law makes us say something a particular way, we've kept it as clear as we can. Two related documents go with these Terms:

1Who can use Mile Zero

You must be 18 or older to create an account and use Mile Zero. By using Mile Zero, you confirm that you are at least 18. Mile Zero involves decisions about travel, parking, and your own safety, and it's a paid service — it's built for adults.

2Your account

You're responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Sign-in is handled through Apple (Sign in with Apple) and our sign-in provider — keep your credentials safe, and let us know at contact@fieldcraftllc.com if you think someone else has accessed your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

3Membership, billing, and cancellation

Mile Zero offers an annual membership that unlocks paid features. When you subscribe:

Your use of the Mile Zero app is also covered by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (the license to install and run the app). These Terms cover everything else about using Mile Zero.

4Your contributions, and the license you give us

You own what you contribute. The spots you add, the notes and observations you write, your edits, and anything else you contribute stay yours. You keep ownership.

The license you grant us. So that Mile Zero can work, you give Fieldcraft a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and create combined or summarized versions of your contributions — only to operate and improve Mile Zero and the Club. We may show your contributions to other members only as far as the visibility you chose allows (see below). We do not sell your contributions, and we do not license or syndicate the community's trust-gated data to anyone.

You choose who sees each spot. Every spot you add is Open, Shared, or Secret — your call, on everything you contribute. That choice stays yours even if your Club membership lapses, is cancelled, or is refunded.

You can delete any contribution, anytime. When you delete a contribution, it comes off your profile, your impact, and future summaries, and we stop including it going forward. One honest limit, so we're clear: combined or summarized information we already generated from many contributors — things like a place's overall freshness or a trust signal — may remain as part of the shared map, because it's our own work drawn from the whole community and is no longer tied to you or to your specific contribution. Deleting your contribution removes the contribution and its connection to you; it doesn't reach back into already-published community summaries.

De-identified, aggregate use. We may use de-identified, aggregated information — data that doesn't identify you — to measure quality, improve Mile Zero, and develop shared standards for what good place-data looks like. We will not syndicate or sell the community's trust-gated data to do this.

Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions about Mile Zero, you let us use them freely to improve the product, with no obligation to you.

Your promises about what you contribute. When you contribute, you confirm that you have the right to share it, that it's accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that it isn't unlawful and doesn't violate anyone else's rights.

5Using Mile Zero responsibly

Mile Zero only works because contributors act in good faith. You agree not to:

You also agree not to break the law, harass or abuse others, upload malware, interfere with or disrupt the service, infringe others' intellectual property, or access Mile Zero through automated or bulk means without our permission.

6Moderation

Your right to delete your own contributions is unconditional (see Section 4). Separately, we may hide or remove contributions that break these Terms, and may limit or end access for accounts that do. These are two different things: your delete right is always yours; our moderation right protects the community.

7Our intellectual property

Mile Zero's software, design, brand, name, logo, and the compiled map, trust system, and summaries we build from the community's contributions are owned by Fieldcraft LLC. You keep ownership of your individual contributions (Section 4); we keep ownership of the platform and the compiled product. These Terms don't give you rights to our marks or software beyond using the app as intended.

8Third-party services

Mile Zero relies on services like Apple, our map and routing providers, and our hosting and data providers. Your use of Mile Zero may also be subject to those companies' terms, and we're not responsible for their services.

9Mile Zero helps you decide — it doesn't guarantee the ground

Please read this part carefully, because it's the heart of how Mile Zero works.

Mile Zero is a community information tool, provided "as is" and "as available." The spots and details in Mile Zero come from other travelers. They can be out of date, wrong, incomplete, or no longer safe or legal. Rules about overnight parking vary by location and change without notice.

You are responsible for verifying local rules and for judging your own safety on the ground. Mile Zero shows you what other travelers reported and how fresh it is, to help you decide — but we do not guarantee that any spot is safe, legal, available, or accurate. The final call is always yours.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, including that Mile Zero will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

10Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Fieldcraft will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to Mile Zero is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50.

This limit does not apply to liability that the law does not allow us to limit — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, gross negligence, or willful misconduct.

11Indemnification

You agree to cover claims brought against Fieldcraft that arise from your contributions, your use of Mile Zero, or your breach of these Terms, to the extent the law allows.

12Suspension and ending your account

You can stop using Mile Zero and close your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how deletion works). We may suspend or end access if you break these Terms or to protect the community or the service.

If your account ends, the sections that should reasonably continue do — including the license you granted for contributions that remain part of the shared map (Section 4), our intellectual property (Section 7), disclaimers (Section 9), limitation of liability (Section 10), indemnification (Section 11), and disputes (Section 14). Your Open / Shared / Secret choices and your right to delete your contributions continue to be honored.

13Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. If you keep using Mile Zero after a change takes effect, you're agreeing to the updated Terms.

14Disputes

We'd much rather solve a problem directly than fight about it. So:

Mile Zero does not require you to give up your right to go to court, and does not force disputes into private arbitration.

15General

These Terms are the whole agreement between you and Fieldcraft about using Mile Zero. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver of it. You may not transfer these Terms to someone else; we may transfer them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business or assets.
